I found out yesterday that a friend of mine and a fellow painter has passed away unexpectedly. Lawrence Hollien was an incredible person and an extraordinary painter in the Surrealist tradition. Garza’s was one of the more impressive artists I happened to see during the East Austin Studio Tour last year. He had several pieces up at OK Mountain and they just blew my Wife and I away. He’s having an opening tonight at Mass ATX. and I highly recommend checking it out.
